Ambassador Ann-Sofie Stude met President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson at the President's residence Bessastaðir on Monday 10th of September.
Ambassador Ann-Sofie Stude handed over her letter of credence to President of Iceland Mr. Guðni Th. Jóhannesson and discussed Iceland and Finland's relations. President Jóhannesson and Mrs. Eliza Reid had invited guests to a reception to welcome the new Ambassador. President Jóhannesson gave a speech and emphasized the good relations between the countries. The President also mentioned in his speech that he has already during his time in office, visited Finland three times. Among other subjects bilateral relations were discussed as well as Arctic co-operation and the fact that Iceland will follow Finland as chair of the Arctic Council.
